On Monday, August 8, 2022, we began the new school year with excitement in anticipation of a productive and prosperous academic year that will yield caring educators, supportive families, and inspired students. Our journey will be fueled with our spirit of kindness, equity, and strategic thinking. While students, educators, and families continue to face many challenges, we will focus primarily on supporting teaching and learning, nurturing mental health, and building personal responsibility. Our District remains committed to ensuring students and staff members thrive and achieve personal fulfillment in a safe and supportive learning environment.
In the 2022-2023 school year, we will continue our commitment to meet the educational needs of our students with a clear focus on literacy, as literacy is the access point to all other academic subjects. Additionally, we will continue to directly address the mental health needs of students through the variety of programs and supports available to them in our District and the surrounding community. We will devote special attention to developing personal responsibility among students. Many of them struggle to exercise sound judgment related to the use of cellphones and social media, which often leads to students neglecting their studies and participating in inappropriate behaviors that include classroom disruptions, bullying, and senseless challenges on social media platforms. The consequences for such behaviors at times preclude students from having a successful educational experience.
